Marla Rausch, LCSW

Marla

Marla specializes in working with individuals who have experienced a variety of traumas, symptoms of anxiety and depression, and issues with attachment/relationships. Marla graduated from Ball State University and then completed graduate school at IUPUI. Individuals are often referred to Marla for brain-based approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and Brainspotting, which she incorporates into her sessions. Marla is certified in using EMDR and finds brain-based approaches to be more effective for those with life-long trauma than traditional talk-therapy.

Marla is extremely passionate about helping others and attributes her success to her personal willingness to grow and learn about herself. Marla continues to educate herself on new treatment modalities and has recently been utilizing polyvagal theory and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy into her sessions. Marla is an experienced trauma psychotherapist with over two decades of experience working with children, teens, and families. Marla will listen to you, help you find out where you want to go, and find the best way to support you on your life journey. Every person is different; therefore, she focuses on getting to know you as an individual and tailoring your treatment to best meet your needs.

Others who have worked with Marla find her to be "energetic, hopeful, and encouraging." Marla does not believe that settling for something less than one desires is an option. She incorporates the five elements of health (physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual) into her everyday life. When Marla is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, listening to live music, and going on adventures with her boyfriend. Marla personally understands how it feels to have unpleasant emotions and unexpected life events happen. She believes in self-care because it is an essential part of being the best she can be. Marla would like for you to reach out to schedule a consultation to see if this would be the right therapeutic relationship for you.
